Some
of the staff at Klindts Booksellers: (left to right) Sheri Johnson,
Philip Klindt, Linda Klindt, Phyllis Klindt.
This
pencil was a promotion piece in the 1930s from the Mikado Pencil
Company, and the pencil box had a picture of the Japanese Emporer (the
box is tied to the pencil in the picture). With the outbreak of WWII,
items associated with Japan became unpopular and the name was changed
from Mikado to Mirado, a name it still bears today.

physically located next to the main bookstore and features cards, hard
to find gift items (local and import), and other esoterica.
